Acrotel Athena Villa

We especially enjoyed the beach, which was clean and scenic, with welcome shade in the morning. Parking was plentiful too. The rooms were peaceful and comfortable, and the resort itself is beautiful and well cared for. The food was the weak point for us: fairly average, and below what we expected from a five-star place. Still, we had a great stay and found it a relaxing place to enjoy the Greek coast.

We liked the range at both breakfast and dinner, so the complaints that the food is boring don't match our experience. The hotel facilities were in good shape, and the service was excellent throughout our August stay. Aggelos in the main restaurant deserves a special thank you, as do the lovely women at the kids club, who were wonderful with our children. The young man at the pool bar and the man with glasses were also always friendly and ready to help, though we can't remember their names. The beach at the hotel is small. A 5-6 minute walk takes you to sister hotel Lily Ann, where there's a larger beach and a pool beside it that our kids loved. We'd definitely come back.

The food was great, though breakfast didn't change from one day to the next. There was parking and a charging station within the resort. The place itself was in good condition, with modern furnishings, and the restaurant was nice. Housekeeping was the main problem: they only took the rubbish and wiped the floors with a damp cloth. The sheets were changed just once in our six days, and only after we asked.

I spent 3-4 months training for this and came away with complaints and humiliation. The woman renting out the windsurfing equipment was rude, had no manners, and seemed to know very little about explaining things to tourists in English. Last summer, in 2024, there were one or two boys working in water sports who were professional and dedicated. Who decided this woman should have the job? It's a small incident as far as the hotel is concerned, but it means I won't return.
