After we’d moved in and made plans around the arrangement, the landlord told me he wanted us out because someone else had offered him more. I’d already agreed to rent the room for myself and my three children and relied on his word. The way he handled it felt completely unfair and unprofessional, especially with young kids involved. I wouldn’t recommend renting from someone who doesn’t keep a commitment.

We returned with the money after half an hour, but nobody was there, even though the cleaning lady had finished. The landlord turned up a few hours later and refused to take us, saying he hadn’t understood English. Earlier, my husband had agreed on a price with him, and when I came with our three children, including a 10-month-old baby, he saw us and promised to bring a cot and stove. He said we could move in after four hours of cleaning, and said he’d be there when we came back with the money. We’d first gone to see how far the beach was, and it turned out to be far. This was an extremely bad experience. To me, he seemed like a profiteer with no decency.

Right in the center of town, and extremely clean. I’d definitely recommend it.
