Avoid this place. Two weeks before my trip, I emailed Stephane to check that everything was okay. He told me the villa I’d booked had been cancelled because of Covid-19. When I asked for my deposit back, I got no reply, and they didn’t answer my calls either. They cancelled my booking and didn’t refund my money. Stephane Lioussanne and Maria Delithanasi were nice until they had sold us the holiday, then disappeared. I consider them total crooks.

This review is about Bouganvillia and our dealings with the company over a booking they later cancelled, not about the homes themselves. Those are privately owned, and another company might manage them next year. There were 25 of us booked. After we’d paid, the owners, Maria & Stephane, kept pushing us to buy more of their services. When we didn’t want to, they cancelled the whole booking without notice. This happened two or three months after we booked, only about a month before our planned stay. They did return our money, but they were rude and impolite throughout. They also told us things supposedly on behalf of the homeowners. We were lucky enough to contact the homeowners directly and found out they hadn’t said any of it. Even when the homeowners understood what was going on and wanted to let us stay in their house, Bouganvillia’s owners wouldn’t allow it because they had an agreement with them. To homeowners, I’d say please don’t let this company manage your homes. There are many other good companies in Halkidiki. Bouganvillia doesn’t seem to know how to build valuable customer relationships or do business in hospitality. I urge future visitors to Halkidiki to take this review into account when planning a booking with them.

They ruined our vacation. We were a big group and wanted to stay together, but on arrival we found ourselves split into two groups. We were told we could either stay like that or move the next day. That turned out not to be true: the next day we were told we had to leave. They also said we could leave late as compensation, but that wasn’t true either. We had to come back from the beach to vacate one of the villas because other guests were arriving. The hosts never apologized. Instead, we were offended and had to listen to the owner swearing at us because, he said, we were noisy. There was a party at the house next door at the same time. I’ve never seen such an attitude or such a lack of hospitality. Any other place would have been better.

I do not recommend dealing with Bouganvillia Homes & Villas. Maria represents the company, and they deceive customers and refuse to return deposits when quarantine makes arrival impossible. They say employees stole the money, so they can’t return it, but former director Stefan says that isn’t true. This is a very dishonest way to do business. We will keep seeking a refund of our advance. It’s unacceptable.
