I can’t recommend this place. Some rooms seem decent, but we were put in a damp basement room with no windows. I saw three rooms like that downstairs, and we ended up in one of them. There’s little point in raising a concern with the owner, especially if you don’t speak Greek. If you decide to leave, be ready for a lecture about the overall rating of Papahristos rooms. You only get your ID or passport back afterward. If you don’t understand Greek, you’ll have to wait while Google translates it.

The care from Mr. Georgios and Mrs. Litsa made this our best stay ever. They even sent us off with grapes cut fresh by Mrs. Litsa and a bottle of tsipouro as a gift, after one last coffee together. Earlier, their son Ilias had driven us to the nicest beach and suggested what to eat. They cleaned our room while we were out, and there was another coffee waiting when we woke from our nap. Mr. Georgios also gave me a CD of some of my favorite music so I wouldn’t forget it. They pointed us to a really good restaurant, five steps, where I had the best octopus I’ve ever eaten. We arrived a little late, but they welcomed us with a smile and coffee without any fuss.

The owners are so warm and friendly. Rooms are good value, with air conditioning, hot water and daily cleaning. There’s an outdoor dining spot for BBQs, and a yard where the kids can play.
