Azul Eco Hotel

The packed breakfast the hotel’s management prepared for our optional agency trip yesterday was a real letdown. It had one slice of toast, two slices of poor-quality cold cuts, two bland slices of cheese cut to fit the bread, two tomato slices, four cucumber slices, four olives with pits, and one serving of margarine. We felt ridiculous beside guests from other hotels, who had proper lunch boxes with sandwiches, croissants, and other decent food. A complete failure by the management team.

I’m still staying here. The rooms are renovated and very clean, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the food is fresh, tasty, and varied. I have no complaints about those things. I do wish more care went into washing the dishes, since it’s noticeable sometimes. The beach bar has been the biggest disappointment. I’m here with a child and booked all-inclusive, so I expected drinks at the beach to be included, especially since they’re the same drinks served inside the hotel. But I have to pay because my wristband is the “wrong” color under an agreement with one tour operator. Other all-inclusive guests get those drinks free with a different wristband. It feels as if guests are treated differently based on their country or agency, and Ukrainian guests seem to be at a disadvantage. This is the first all-inclusive hotel I’ve seen charge for beach bar drinks, and it left a bitter feeling. I expected equal treatment regardless of where guests come from or how they booked.

Janek and Kuba, the animators, were wonderful. They kept the kids engaged the whole time and brought so much energy and creativity to the atmosphere. The hotel staff were friendly and always willing to help. Highly recommend!

The food gets repetitive, and there’s often an unpleasant smell near the hotel slides. Janek and Kuba, though, are fantastic animators and even better people. They made the trip unforgettable.
