Hotel Babis

I like hosts who are discreet rather than showering you with advice or pushing friendliness, and these hosts were just that. They’re happy to answer whatever you ask. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and very clean, and the price for what you get is excellent. The quiet atmosphere, clean rooms, and friendly staff made it feel like staying in someone’s home rather than a hotel.

The balcony views are stunning, and the well-kept pool is a peaceful place to unwind. The hotel itself is quiet but close to supermarkets and bus stops for local buses and excursion pick-ups. It’s also only 100m from a small beach with a good restaurant serving very decent Greek food. Being roughly in the middle of the island’s north coast means most places are within an hour and a half by road. The rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard, and the air conditioning, fridge, shower, and safe all worked fine. Staff are friendly and helpful without hovering. Breakfast is simple continental fare, but delicious, and the whole place is good value. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

I arrived without a reservation and paid 30 euro a night, which seemed very reasonable, especially since breakfast was included every morning. The rooms were very clean and had great air conditioning and a fridge/freezer. Everyone on staff was lovely. The housekeeper was incredible, so kind and went out of her way to make my stay the best. It’s a lovely place, and I’d recommend it and return.

There’s a very nice local taverna nearby, and this is a good base for trips. For a two-star place, the standard is really high. Breakfast is a little repetitive, but it’s always fresh, filling, and well priced. No complaints, I definitely recommend staying here.
