Megali Ammos House

It was easy to walk to the old harbour from here, while still being far enough away that we avoided the noise. There was also a quiet, cozy stretch of beach that was kept in really nice condition. Our room was attractive, with a lovely view, and the small cabinet kitchenette was surprisingly practical. I managed to cook a full meal in that tiny space without any problems. The mattress and pillows were soft and cozy. Everyone on staff was welcoming and friendly, and the attached restaurant served great meals. The breakfast option was fantastic, too. I really enjoyed my stay and hope to return in a year or two.

You can walk straight from the restaurant onto Megali Ammos beach, since the hotel is right on the water. I spent a wonderful week here and loved the restaurant's food, especially the breakfasts, which I'll miss. The hotel and restaurant staff were kind and polite, and made an effort to ensure we had a nice stay. I can't recommend it enough!

The sea view was lovely and the staff were friendly, but this didn't feel like a good fit for older guests in October. We were put in a narrow room up two flights of stairs with no help. It had a mezzanine bed and a black metal staircase that felt dangerous at night, especially with the toilet downstairs. Nobody explained that the key card controlled the electricity, the TV remote didn't work, and there were no blankets, so we had to leave the air conditioning on heat all night. The room did have a kettle, two-ring hot plate, crockery, and fridge, but staff wouldn't give us milk for tea, leaving us to walk a kilometre to the only open supermarket. Staff were noisy after the restaurant shut. The restaurant food was pretentious, unappetising, and expensive. It might suit younger people during the season.

It only takes a few minutes to walk to Skiathos city, and the restaurant sits right by the sea, with very good food and wine. We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully designed small hotel. The rooms were cozy, clean, and decorated in a modern beach style we really liked. The bathroom was modern as well, and the staff were friendly and easygoing. I'd highly recommend staying here when visiting Skiathos!
