The Tree

We paid a lot for this room and expected a much better experience. The property's great location is undermined by Ginfish bar next door, which stays open and plays extremely loud music until 4am every night. The earplugs the hotel provides are poor quality, so we had to buy more expensive ones. This property, and probably The Water too, needs much better soundproofing.

The town location is great, but the noise from the Italian restaurant downstairs, and especially THE GINFISH BAR, was on another level. It was totally unacceptable. If you don't read reviews before booking, the shock will be huge. The hotel provides a 'sleeping pack' of earplugs, but they're useless. Nothing could block the sound, including the screaming that went with it. PLEASE READ REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING.

We stayed for 16 nights in a deluxe room with a sea view, and had a great time. The Tree is an easy walk from town, and whenever we had a question, someone answered with a smile. Dimitri, Harry, Hilda, and Eva were all so helpful. I sleep very lightly, but never heard the bars below, despite what other guests have said about the noise. It didn't bother us at all. For a handy place to stay in Skiathos, this worked really well.

The location was the one good part, handy for visiting the town. Everything else was terrible. There was only one towel on the bed when my friend and I arrived, and it had blood stains. Later that evening, we noticed a sewer smell. The open-air bar and nightclub directly below the hotel played music with no sound insulation, so don't expect to sleep before 4am. In the morning, the shower had very weak water pressure. At checkout nobody asked how our stay had been, which made it seem like they already knew how bad it was.
