Alkistis Hotel Apartments

We spent a week at Alkistis for our anniversary, and the team were so helpful and cheerful. They even gave us an anniversary present, which we really appreciated. The apartment was clean, with a nice Greek style, and they cleaned it every day. Breakfast was Greek-style and everything was fresh. I had pork for dinner on the first night, and it tasted like a lovely homemade meal. They also run a shuttle to and from town. The location suited me well, not too close to town but not too far, with nature around for a relaxing stay.

We’re almost at the end of a week here, and I’d happily return. Our self-catering room is spacious, with a good-sized balcony and a lovely view over the olive trees toward the sea. It’s very quiet where we are, set back from the road, so we don’t hear the little traffic there is or the pool bar music. The music isn’t very loud, but I’m glad it doesn’t reach us. The hotel is away from the town center, which suits us because it’s quieter. Staff are friendly and speak good English, which is great since my Greek is poor. There’s a shuttle into town at set times, and they’ll also take us outside those hours if we ask. They’ve been very accommodating, even offering to drive us so we could catch the next bus at the terminal after the one that stopped outside the hotel was full. On the way back, the public bus dropped us at the hotel when we told the driver its name. The pool doesn’t have the diving board shown in the Thompson photos, so you have to dive from the side instead. The deep end is 3 m, plenty deep for diving, but watch out for wasps around the water’s edge. We haven’t tried breakfast at the restaurant, so can’t comment on it. The evening meals are good and reasonably priced, though there’s more choice in town.

We absolutely loved our stay. It’s a beautiful hotel with clean, comfortable accommodation, a great pool and pool bar, and a free shuttle into town.

The staff at alkistis hotel were warm, friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. It’s a very clean, traditionally Greek hotel just outside town, with a complimentary shuttle running several times during the day and evening, so you get a bit of both. There’s a supermarket and a lovely restaurant within walking distance, as well as bus stops for getting around the island. The pool is a good size and has a swim-up bar. I’d highly recommend it and hope to return soon.
