Denise Hotel

Marie and her brother personally met us as we got off the ferry, and were so excited to welcome us. My wife and niece quickly bonded with Marie, and we had lots of lovely conversations with her during our stay. She also gave us helpful advice on things to see around the island. The hosts took such good care of us, and that’s why I’m writing my first ever review after years on Google. We were a little wary because the room rate was surprisingly low, but this has become our favourite hotel we’ve stayed in. The room and bathroom were basic but clean, and the balcony view was unbelievable. The photos don’t do it justice. We didn’t get to use the pool because we were busy, but it looked modern and like a great place to relax on a hot day. For our first trip to Greece, the hotel and its hosts exceeded our expectations and made the island trip even better. Keep in mind that it’s a two-star place, not the Ritz, but it had what we needed to enjoy Skopelos. You won’t regret staying here. Thanks to the hosts for such a great visit.

Maria made our few days fantastic. The owner kindly upgraded our room at no charge and picked us up from the ferry without us even asking. On checkout day, they also dropped off our luggage so we didn’t have to carry it downhill, and we got a little gift on our last night. Such hospitable, kind staff. I’d highly recommend staying here.

You can watch the sun rise over the city from a beautiful view. There’s a pool, and the staff were helpful and very nice. They also offer to pick guests up from the ferry and take them back afterward, which is a great extra. The rooms were clean, though they could use some renovation.

We spent eight wonderful days at Denise Hotel and felt at home from the moment we arrived. Maria, her brother, their adorable dog and cats all made us feel like family, and the hospitality was exceptional. The balcony was a highlight. We spent ages relaxing there and taking in the breathtaking view. We also loved the pool, which was a perfect size and temperature, and very clean. It was great for cooling off after a day out exploring. The walk down to town, the port and bus station is easy. We took a taxi once or twice for the uphill walk back. We loved our time here and are already looking forward to returning. Great value, a welcoming atmosphere and a handy base for exploring the island.
