Creta Nostos Luxury Apartment

The balcony was a lovely spot to watch the sunrise, and the apartment itself felt new, clean, and newly furnished. It has a bedroom, a bathroom with a washing machine, and a spacious kitchen-living area. I stayed for two nights, and it was only a few minutes by car from the center. I'd consider it again if I return to Xania.

We came in September 2024, from the 15th to the 20th, as two couples with children aged 4 and 14. The place is in a local city neighborhood with hardly any tourists. It felt more like a small apartment building, with other tenants sharing the property. We could have looked into the area more beforehand, so some of that was on us. We may return to Souda, but probably not the city center; we'd likely stay somewhere in the surrounding mountains. Lidl had the cheapest groceries. The condition of the apartment was the main problem. The fridge had food and dirt from other tenants, the floor was smeared, and the cabinets beneath the sink were dirty. The kitchen and living room tables were broken, and the doors throughout were greasy and grimy. There were no garbage bags, so we used shopping bags in the bins. The bathtub and toilet were dirty, and the kitchen had an old cloth and sponge left by previous guests. In general, it wasn't clean. We contacted the landlord, who brought us shower cleaner so we could clean it ourselves. The listing photos were fairly similar to the rooms we got, and the air conditioning worked in every room except the garden area. That patch wasn't really a garden, just a weedy square facing some shabby, oversized Styrofoam figures from a circus that had closed down. There were balconies at the back, but they connected to other tenants' spaces. For the price, we can't recommend it. Cleanliness matters.

Our company’s technicians were there to install air conditioning units, and I was struck by how well the space was laid out. The owner was kind and welcoming, and the Gulf of Souda view was beautiful.

The apartment was clean and really nice.
