Soufli is a handy base for exploring Evros, with the main sights and other cities about an hour away or less. Hotel Koukouli is close to the town centre but away from the bustle, and we found it very good value. We stayed four nights in early July. The old silkworm cocoon house has been tastefully renovated. Its red brick, three-storey building has high ceilings and a peaceful side garden. Our room was simple, clean and cosy, with everything we needed and a barely noticeable, pleasant scent. Apostolis Alexoudis and the team were kind and always ready to help, share information about Soufli or suggest trips around Evros. Everyone was friendly and smiling. In the evenings I loved sitting in the garden with a book and listening to the lovely music playing softly until midnight. Breakfast had fresh local produce. I’d happily come back! 💙

My room was tidied every day, which showed real attention to detail, and I enjoyed the garden, interiors and breakfast. Hotel Koukouli is a former cocoon house, converted into a hotel while keeping its original character. I had a fantastic stay and highly recommend it.

We were working nearby and stayed for two nights. We arrived at 2 a.m. on the first night, and Apostolis had stayed up to wait for us. He was a great host and took care of all our requests.

We’ve stayed at Hotel Koukouli more than twice, and it’s been great every time. It’s a traditional hotel with excellent service, frequent cleaning and a lovely breakfast in the exquisite garden. You can walk to pretty much anywhere in Soufli from here. The town is centrally located in Evros prefecture, so the hotel also makes it easy to visit the area efficiently. I highly recommend it for stays and trips around Evros.
