Staying in Arhontiko Kontou is a unique way to experience a building from 1792, traditionally renovated and full of things that seem to come from much earlier times. It's comfortable and clean, though you can't expect modern features. Some rooms don't have an elevator, and the furniture, including the bed, is shorter than usual. For most people interested in being part of living history, I'd recommend it, but not for people with disabilities.

Getting to Kontos's mansion was the one drawback for us. Apart from that, we had a wonderful stay, with lovely scenery and the quiet guesthouse we were looking for. The hospitality was excellent, and I'd gladly return.
