The villa was clean, with a rooftop terrace looking out over the mountains. The pool was private and clean, and the garden was full of color and fragrance. Breakfast was fresh, had lots of variety, and came in a lovely outdoor setting. The bathroom could be bigger and the kitchen better equipped. This is a peaceful, scenic spot in northwest Crete, with outstanding staff. They were friendly and knew what to do nearby, the sort of people you want to hug. I’d happily recommend it, especially for a family.

The countryside views are beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and really comfortable. The staff made us feel welcome, and the food was delicious. I wish I could have stayed longer. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel.
Spilia is about 2-3km from the center of Kolymbari, so you’ll need a car. There are two really good tavernas in the village, though, and it makes an excellent base for exploring western and northwestern Crete. We had a fantastic two weeks in a Spilia Village villa. It had a great layout for our family of five, with plenty of space, two bathrooms, and a good-sized kitchen and living area, though we didn’t spend much time indoors. The secluded garden and pool were well kept by the excellent maintenance team. Most mornings we walked a short distance to the hotel for the buffet breakfast. The hotel team were great, full of advice and tips, and couldn’t do enough for us. Recommended without hesitation.
Comfortable beds and attentive hotel staff. The design is nice, and being quite far from the sea let us feel more of the local atmosphere. The food was so-so.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the breakfast package they gave us for our early departure. The main downside was dinner service: courses came too quickly, and sometimes plates were taken before we’d finished, which made us feel rushed. We chose half board. The buffet breakfast had lots of high-quality options, and the à la carte dinners were excellent, though the menu might get repetitive if you stay more than a week. Drinks were pricey, with a bottle of water costing €5, but that was the only thing we found overpriced. Spilia Village was a peaceful, charming place, and we had an amazing stay. Our suite was spacious and tastefully decorated, with a canopy bed, large bathroom, and separate living area. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which we needed on those consistently warm days. The pool area had three different pools and never felt crowded.
