Stalis Hotel

We had a great stay. The first night we were given a room with a sea view because the hotel was fully booked. I’d suggest improving the food, but considering the quality for the price, I have nothing bad to say.

The people and the location are why I’d still come back. The entire staff was friendly, polite, and helpful, and the cleaning ladies were lovely. Our room was incredibly clean, even beyond what we could have expected, which matters a lot on holiday. We’re right in the heart of Stalida, and although the hotel has several buildings, none are far from the beach or restaurant. Despina made a great first impression at reception. She was delightful throughout our stay: helpful, kind, understanding, and proactive. Giorgou in the kitchen, our “grill meister,” was a lifesaver. Whenever he was at the grill, we knew the food would be good. Even the breakfast eggs had something special. The food was the reason I considered giving 4 stars instead of 5. There was some variety, though a few dishes stayed the same. The food wasn’t necessarily bad, but it wasn’t good either. Lunch was the worst part of the all-inclusive plan, while our “grill meister” saved dinner. The soft drinks and so-called “natural” drinks were so poor we couldn’t drink them, and the coffee was a joke. I think coffee is generally bad in Greece, though. The only drink I enjoyed was the beer. Also, all-inclusive guests don’t get free sunbeds by the sea, only by the pool.

The hotel's spot was a real highlight for us. The pool bar and beautiful sandy beach are close together, so it was easy to switch between swimming in the pool and sea. We also liked the relaxed feel of the beach bar. We had two rooms, and one had a fabulous sea view that was perfect for sitting back and watching the world go by. Both rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable after a day in the sun. The staff's warmth made a big difference from the moment we arrived. Manager Christos and VeVe, the reception and reservation manager, were exceptionally helpful with every request. Sorry if I haven’t got VeVe’s name quite right! The cheerful bar staff, especially Arian, made the trip a joy. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued. We had a wonderful stay at Stalis Hotel and are already looking forward to coming back. A couple of things could be improved: the pool sunbeds are a first-come, first-served rush when the pool opens at 10 a.m., and a more organized way of allocating them would help. It would also be a bonus if sunbeds and umbrellas at the beach were included, as we had to pay for them separately. We were not on an all-inclusive plan and would have liked the option to buy snacks and drinks at the beach bar, rather than having to leave the beach area. Even with those small suggestions, we highly recommend the hotel and can’t wait to return.

I keep choosing this hotel because it’s part of local life, without that artificial separation just for tourists. It has everything you need, but the people are the best part. The staff make you feel like you’re among friends. And being right on the beach matters most to hotel guests. Arjan, the beach bartender, is the one who makes each day enjoyable and is the heart of the holiday.
