Little Bay

The rooms are basic, but they had everything we needed. The staff are lovely and laid back, and it has all I’d want for a Cretan getaway. It’s right on the beach, so there’s no need to pay for loungers, and the WiFi even works great on the beach. The airport is only 15 minutes away, and it’s an easy walk to bars, restaurants, and other beaches. I booked for the location and the price, and honestly, if this place were any better it would cost a lot more. Who knew paradise could be so cheap? Thanks so much, don’t change a thing.

The best part for us is the water right outside: lovely clear blue sea, with three beaches close by, one only a few steps from the apartment. Sunbeds are shared as people need them, and the whole place has a quiet, friendly feel. We’ve returned several times over the past few years and always felt safe and at ease. The staff are relaxed, caring, and helpful. Just be kind to everyone and nothing seems to be a problem. Little insects or cats may wander into your room, so let them back out. To keep the apartment cool and dry, leave a breeze moving through it. The beds are fairly comfortable, and the kitchenette has most things, though you’ll need to bring a grater for homemade tzatziki. The bathroom is small but works fine. Use the floor towel, since it gets slippery when wet. You can sit on your terrace or in the gardens, and the nearest beach is included in the price. There’s no pool, but the sea starts right at the door. The sunrise behind the mountain, the one known from Zorba the Greek, and the sunset from there are both spectacular. I’d recommend the short walk up to Lera cave before sunset. My six-year-old niece managed it easily. There are plenty of good restaurants and beach pubs nearby, including a lovely beach bar about 500 metres away. A Market and a Supermarket are around 400 metres up the road. The Market seems aimed more at locals, while the Supermarket caters to tourists. It really is a relaxed place at the end of the road.

Having a private beach was a real bonus, and the apartments had everything we needed. The shared gardens are lovely, with lots of tavernas nearby. It felt like we’d struck gold for a relaxing holiday. Thank you!

The owner is a really nice guy, and the apartments have everything you need. The beach is right out front and feels almost private, with amazing water and scenery. It’s a lovely spot for a few days, far from the tourist villages, with barely any noise. I’d definitely recommend it.
