I booked four months ahead for a trip to Alonissos with friends, even though I never actually stayed at this property. The owner requested a 30% deposit by bank transfer outside Booking.com's payment system. A few days later, our group changed destinations, so I politely asked to cancel well in advance. The owner wouldn't be flexible, wanted to keep the deposit, and asked for even more money under their policy. After I contacted Booking.com twice, they stepped in and got the reservation cancelled without additional charges. The deposit was returned, but €32 was kept with no explanation. I asked the property three times what the charge was for and never got a reply. Booking.com eventually gave me a €32 credit as a goodwill gesture. They came through for me again. I can't speak to the beauty of the place, but I think other travellers should know what happened. Only book if free cancellation is offered, or you could lose money even when you book months ahead. Good luck, and be cautious.

It's easy to sit out on the balcony, eat or have a drink, and listen to the sea. The studios are large, nicely decorated, and have relatively modern appliances, with a fantastic view right over the water. Cleaning was perfect, and the internet was very good, a surprise since most of the island doesn't even have phone coverage. The host was friendly and helpful with suggestions. A couple of small annoyances: plants in front of the balcony blocked some of the view and needed trimming, and part of the payment had to be made in cash.

We stayed in the studio by the sea and loved the view. The sun rises out of the water right in front of you, so it's lovely to wake up and see it. The studio was clean, had a small kitchen, and the owners were very nice. We booked while on the ferry to the island and met them at the property. Parking is on the street, and carrying luggage to the accommodation means walking about 100 metres. The village is very small, though it has four restaurants. We were there in mid-September and only one terrace was still open. The food there was great, and we got a discount for staying at Alexandra Studios. The place is close to Agios Dimitrios Beach and Steni Vala, a really picturesque village. Patitiri is a 20-minute drive on a fairly narrow, curvy road. It suited us well because it was quiet and close to the sea.
