MarBella, Mar-Bella Collection Hotel

The waterpark for kids was a big hit, with eight slides, including three that suited older kids and adults too. There are also three nice pools, though none of them are heated. We had a sea view and preferred it slightly to the pool view. Our two bedroom suite had loads of room for the five of us. It sleeps six comfortably, with two large bathrooms, big walk-in showers, double sinks, lots of wardrobe space, a TV in a cabinet at the end of the bed, and a spacious double balcony. All the meals were excellent quality, with plenty of choice at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The front of house team were amazing, always polite, helpful, smiling, and a pleasure to deal with. We had seven great days here and would definitely recommend the resort. Five stars all the way 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The biggest practical problem was getting around the hotel. It’s very hilly, with lots of steep steps, so it would be hard with a buggy or mobility difficulties. At the international buffet, guests were checked in one at a time and one staff member seated everyone, which meant queues and delays when it was busy. There wasn’t much for adults to do during the day. Most of the activities were aimed at children, including water polo, which was mainly for kids. The rules for booking the à la carte restaurants were disappointing too. We stayed four nights and still had limits on reservations. The room was okay, if a little dated, and the food was fine overall. Desserts were quite average in both taste and choice, so they could use some improvement. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming throughout, and we really enjoyed the complimentary cruise tour.

The kids loved the kids club, and the staff there were super friendly. Our room was lovely, the food was delicious, and the resort staff were so welcoming and always ready to help us feel comfortable. We had an amazing stay and will definitely come back.

The kids had activities to keep them happily occupied, so we got some time to relax as well. We were also impressed by the restaurant choices, with local dishes and international favourites to try each day, all consistently good. Our room stayed spotless and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Nothing felt like too much trouble. The whole stay was comfortable and fun for the family, and we’d come back and recommend it. As for the negative reviews, I can only suggest they may be a bit out of touch with what money gets you these days.
