George made the stay especially easy. He was friendly and ready to help, answered our questions, sorted out a car rental for us, and pointed us toward a nearby sports bar and some good places to see around the island. The villa itself was spotless, with well-kept rooms and a lovely pool. It’s quiet and peaceful, but still close to the airport and the city. We had a fantastic time and would recommend it to anyone coming to Kefalonia.

Ai Helis Hotel Apartments is a nice, clean place to stay, and getting to Ai Helis beach takes about 15-20 minutes on foot. We booked flights, transfers and accommodation through Jet2, arriving on 31 May 2026, when George greeted us. He was very friendly and helpful. There’s a large pool with plenty of sunbeds, plus a bar serving drinks and snacks, though no hot food. They told us at check-in that outside food and drinks aren’t allowed around the pool. The area is flat for walking, with around five tavernas within ten minutes and one supermarket about as far away. There’s no bakery nearby. It was our first time in Svoronata; we usually look in the Lourdas area but couldn’t find anything there this year. Ai Helis beach is an easy walk away. The rooms have a flat-screen TV, plenty of storage and a hairdryer. The kitchen is tiny and short on utensils, with no bread knife or bottle opener, which we noticed after buying fresh bread. The bathroom is cramped enough that you have to put one foot in the shower tray to use the toilet. The curtain also leaves the floor very wet after a shower, but the water is always hot. Balconies are small, especially upstairs, and I kept catching my feet on the table and chairs. Parking was fine with a hire car, though the entrance gate is tight, so take care going in and out. It’s nice accommodation, but the location kept it from being a perfect fit for us.

We really enjoyed our stay, and George was very hospitable. The hotel is good, though not a five-star place, which is what we expected. Our family room was spacious and had two terraces. The two cleaners deserve thanks too: they came every day, changed the towels and topped up the shower gel. It’s very quiet and rural here, with sea breeze, nature and silence instead of discos or loud music. You can make your own meals or eat at the taverns, where prices are reasonable, portions generous and the Greek food very tasty. I’d suggest renting a car to see different beaches and places around the island each day. Families should choose somewhere else, though, because children’s noise disrupts the calm this place offers.

George was cheerful and ready to help with anything, and the staff were happy too. Our room was serviced every day. It’s a well-situated hotel, around ten minutes from a lovely beach; the nearest tavernas are also about ten minutes away, with more a relaxed 15-minute walk further on. There’s no restaurant, but the bar is adequate, and the pool with sunbeds and parasols is beautiful. We had very little hot water on our second-to-last day, probably because there had been no sun after a huge storm the day before. I’d recommend it.

We stayed for two weeks, and came away disappointed. The beach and restaurants were much farther away than we expected. The kitchen facilities were very poor, and the pool bar wasn't open, though it looked like they were getting it ready by the time we left. Water and beer were overpriced. Air conditioning cost an extra €9 a night, and George insisted on cash.
