Baha-Ammes

We were taken aback by how rudely we were told to leave. My wife loves gardening and has enjoyed chatting with George and his wife, who are lovely Greek hosts and fabulous people. We’ve visited the beautiful Baha-Ammes gardens every year for years, and they had always been open to visitors and made us feel welcome. This time, a young English woman with a bad temper came up and said, “You can’t be here, this is private property.” I was confused and began explaining that we’d visited for years, but she cut me off to say it had been taken over, was private, and we had to leave. So we did. It was incredibly rude, and could have been handled much more kindly. They could even have put a sign at the entrance instead of leaving the old “welcome to baha ammes gardens” sign there. That young woman needs a lesson in Greek hospitality. Needless to say, we’ll never stay there if we need accommodation, and we won’t recommend it to anyone.

The apartments sit in a lovely garden, and the hosts are so welcoming. Highly recommend!

For little ones, there are turtles, and if you like outdoor showers, you’ll be pleased. The apartment buildings sit in what feels like a botanical garden, with a huge range of plants from around the world. The drawback is the lack of space in the kitchen and living room. Both are really cramped and barely usable.

George, the owner, is a lovely person. The location is great near the airport, and all the basics are within walking distance, including restaurants, a market, a tobacconist and the beach. The Wi-Fi signal is weak because of the airport’s proximity, but that could suit anyone wanting to fully switch off and relax.
