What we’ll remember most is Panos’s genuine kindness. He spent a lot of time telling us about the island, even though he works crazy hours, and went out of his way to help with all our luggage, even after we’d checked out. Thank you so much for everything, Panos, and please give our regards to your beautiful wife. The apartment was in a great location and spotless. The fridge was restocked every day with loads of food: fresh milk, yogurt, boiled eggs, homemade Greek cookies, bread, sesame sticks and more. We’ve stayed at Thea twice, after staying at Symi’s most luxurious hotel on our first trip. Thea is fabulous on every level, and we’ll always come back. It’s super comfortable and clean, and the host and staff are so friendly and accommodating. I can’t rate it highly enough. Book early, as these apartments are very hard to get!

A quiet, charming place to base yourself while exploring colorful Symi. Restaurants are only a few minutes’ walk away, but the apartments feel like a peaceful retreat. Our bright, clean room had a partial harbor view from the balcony. I still remember having coffee there early in the morning, listening to the port slowly wake up. The Greek neoclassical style felt thoughtful and welcoming, with warm-toned walls, traditional wooden furniture and an arched bathroom. It felt more like a real home than a generic hotel. Thea may not be a five-star hotel, but it has something more valuable: intimacy, charm and a real sense of place. You feel briefly part of Symi while you’re here. I’d definitely return, and recommend it to independent travelers looking for a peaceful, tasteful stay with local character.
