Villa Anna

The room was filthy, and putting three people in it because Dimitris couldn't manage his bookings was irresponsible. Service from the host was the worst I've ever experienced. He seems to care about profit and nothing else. I've never seen anyone so careless. Awful room, awful host, awful customer service. If I could, I'd give it zero stars.

The rooms are much smaller than the photos made me expect. Seeing just the beds, I thought it might be an apartment with several rooms, but in reality there are one or two rooms with all the beds pushed close together. Everything needed is available in the apartment, though, and that's the only reason I'm taking off a star. I'm here at Villa Anna with seven friends, and the place is clean. Towels are replaced daily and so is the toilet cleaning. Dimitris has been a great host: he suggested what to see and what to skip, and so far his advice has been right. He even washed our cars in the morning.

The best part of our stay was getting to know Dimitri. He quickly feels like a friend, and as a local he knows which beaches are worth visiting, what to do around the island, and which tourist traps to avoid. He was always ready to help, too. After we came back from Marble beach with the car coated in white road dust, he washed it without us even asking. We also had a spacious studio in a good location, with the room cleaned and towels changed every day. We found this Villa by luck, and Dimitri's help made the trip much more enjoyable. We explored so many good places thanks to his advice. I'd recommend staying here.

The studio was dusty and dirty throughout. There were hairs on the bed sheets, the utilities were dirty, and the shower was full of bugs that bit us. I didn't enjoy staying there. The owner never changed the towels. He said he didn't know when we were around, though he could have called or knocked. Later he accused me of having a false credit card, even though he'd said cash was fine. When I told him I wasn't satisfied, he said people like me shouldn't share their life problems and should just stay home.
