Aegeon Hotel

The room was incredibly damp. After three days, the mirror still hadn’t dried, and all the clothes in my luggage smelled of mold and rancidity. The sink drain was completely rusty, the shower switch didn’t work, and water went everywhere when I used it. Heat came from the air conditioning. When I plugged in the dryer, the network overloaded and the power went out. The towels were old, blackened, and wet, and water sat in the bathroom instead of draining. On New Year’s Eve the hotel corridor smelled of diesel, and the cleaning ladies had left all the windows open when it was 0 degrees outside. I told the receptionist about the problem, but she sent a woman with an iron.

We stayed from Friday through Saturday in a single room with a double bed. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews that nearly put us off booking. For the price and location, the room was excellent. It was clean and orderly, with useful things like towels, slippers, and a toothbrush and toothpaste. The staff were pleasant and helpful throughout, and we had a great time. I highly recommend it!

The price is too high for a place this old and dirty, and it needs renovating. The photos might be from 2000 or even earlier. There was a terrible farm smell around the hotel, and my suitcase still smells from our stay. Breakfast was 2+, and the woman serving it was coughing heavily over the buffet, which felt like a bad anecdote. Completely not recommended. Never again. The management must be changed, otherwise it’s kind of fiction. (((

I checked the reviews and saw that the owner fights people over negative feedback, so at first I let the moldy bread go, thinking it might have been an honest mistake. I arrived in time for breakfast and was served bread with mold on it. That made me suspicious, so I checked under the mattress and found dead bed bugs. I left right away and went to an air b&b. I didn’t complain to the staff because they seemed fed up and had extremely sour faces.
