Blue Bottle Boutique Hotel

A small, pleasant hotel with very good service. You can put together your own breakfast. If you're arriving by car, parking is limited, so you'll need to arrange a spot in a garage.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice, and the room stayed quiet at night. It was cozy, spotless and nicely furnished, with friendly staff and a great breakfast. Excellent value, too. There's a paid parking garage half a block away, separate from the hotel, where you can park in and out.

We paid in full for a room that, as far as it appears, was later resold after the hotel canceled our four-night reservation without our consent. Even if travel restrictions had eased and we could have arrived a day late, it seems we would have been left without accommodation despite having paid. The way this was handled showed a serious lack of customer care and empathy. After securing the payment, they seemed to disregard us as clients. Two days before our planned arrival, war broke out in my country and all flights to and from the region were canceled. We had paid extra for free cancellation, but the policy required three days' notice. We contacted the hotel as soon as this happened, two days before arrival, and followed the instructions to send an official cancellation request by email or through the booking platform. Despite the extraordinary circumstances and our prompt notice, the request was refused and we were told we'd be charged in full, as if we were to blame for a war. “Thank you” for your concern about our safety. When we tried to talk it through by phone, they slammed the phone down on us. They then ignored our follow-up emails. After taking the full payment, the hotel canceled the booking anyway. The whole experience was an awful display of customer service and empathy.

Everything was within walking distance, and the area had plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. We liked the breakfast too, with three set menus or the option to mix and match. But what made the stay was Eleutheria, the wonderful receptionist. Each day she took time to suggest places to eat and things to do in Thessaloniki, even sharing her favorite dishes. She was so kind and looked after us, and every restaurant she recommended exceeded our expectations. We had a lovely time at the Blue Bottle Hotel and would come back for her.
