Capsis Bristol Boutique Hotel

The decor was nice, the place was clean, and the location was good. But the breakfast really spoiled the stay: it was very poor, below even what I'd expect from a two-star hotel. The food was low quality, nothing seemed very fresh, and there was no fresh juice.

There’s no hotel parking, but the staff and service were good. Breakfast is self-serve and seems limited at first, though if you ask, you can get a good range of eggs and meats. The hotel is in a historic building with plenty of character and large, high-ceilinged rooms. It’s about 100 meters from the sea, surrounded by restaurants and tavernas, and within walking distance of everything, including a stop on the new metro line.

The suite was lovely, filled with antique furniture, art, and books about Greek culture. I really appreciated the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the time I spent there. This is my favorite place in Thessaloniki. The service was out of this world, and they gave me the best suite despite my mistake when booking the room.

The WiFi was slow, and after the first day I skipped breakfast. It was like breakfast at a two-star travel lodge, toast, machine-made coffee you prepare yourself, and grumpy staff. Compared with breakfasts at some nearby five-star hotels where I’ve stayed recently, it was literally a thousand times worse. The suite itself was stylish, from the 1930s, with a big handmade rug and two comfortable desks. There were separate thermostats in the bedroom and sitting area. The location was convenient, although a bit noisy.
