Grand Hotel Palace

We spent Christmas here with our family and children, and were really charmed by the atmosphere and the way we were treated. Breakfast was abundant and tasty, and the children's menu was a big plus. The pool isn’t large, but it’s lovely and works well for children. As a parent of two, I did miss having a separate playroom with toys. The hotel is not near the center, and parking there is almost impossible, so reception helped us call taxis every day. We’ll definitely come back.

The hotel's reply is inadequate and ignores how serious the incident during our stay was. Parking the vehicle near the hotel's side entrance does not remove the hotel's basic duty of care. This was a serious security incident, and on that basis alone I would strongly advise people against staying there. The staff's response was even more troubling. Despite repeated requests, the duty manager refused to come out, speak with us, or hear what had happened. The manager only appeared after the police arrived, then made claims that were demonstrably false, including that the car window had been left open. It had not. That raises serious suspicion, which will be examined through the surveillance footage. The hotel's reference to Greek law is selective and self-serving. I have a law degree and more than 20 years of professional experience, and can access, interpret, and apply the relevant provisions. The response ignores clear failures in service standards and guest protection, as well as possible criminal liability. The hotel did not act in good faith. There was no help, no willingness to listen, and no attempt to calm things down or handle a serious incident properly. That is a severe breach of hospitality obligations and basic human decency, as well as potentially the law. Formal legal proceedings have already begun, and the competent authorities will determine civil and criminal responsibility. I will never stay again at a hotel where negligence, lack of accountability, and inhumane treatment of guests prevail.

The breakfast buffet had a wide and delicious selection, and Dimitris at the bar gave us excellent suggestions for food and wine. The facilities were exceptionally clean, and the staff were courteous and professional throughout. We booked at the last minute and arrived late, which could have been stressful, but the hotel surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade. The whole stay felt upscale.

I strongly advise against staying here. My vehicle was broken into and robbed in the hotel's parking area, despite its five-star rating. Staff refused responsibility and, even more alarmingly, would not contact the police or offer any help. This was a serious failure of basic security and their duty of care. I’m pursuing all available legal action over the incident.
