Hotel Argo

If you’re traveling light, I’d recommend this place. It works well for different kinds of travelers, and you can reach someone by message around the clock if you contact them ahead of time.

The place is a total mess and really seems to need major work. I stayed one night at Argo Hotel; it was okay for the price, but sharing a bathroom was a dealbreaker for me. I’d pick a hostel next time.

The bus stop right outside was a real help, especially since the airport bus stops there. The hotel is also about 300 m from the port and close to the old town and city monuments. My room was clean and warm during my January stay, and the air conditioning can heat as well as cool, which came in handy 😉. It was a reasonable standard for the price. The staff were helpful and easy to talk to in English. I recommend it!

The staff were so friendly and made us feel at home, and on our last day they kindly kept our bags behind the desk for free while we waited for a late flight. It’s a good hotel for a couple of nights. The bathroom was the main drawback: the shower is fixed to the wall with no door, and the two floor drains still left the toilet seat, sink, and pretty much the whole room soaked afterwards. It looked like an added-on space. We were about a 10-minute walk from the square, which was convenient, but our room faced the main road and the traffic was extremely loud. The doors are thin, so cars and horns came through at all hours. I slept with earplugs and could still hear them. I know the noise isn’t the owners’ fault. We stayed four nights.
