Ladadika Design

The room was comfortable and looked nice, with a round bed, comfortable pillows, a fridge, a water boiler, and big sofas that could probably be used for sleeping too. There was no desk for working, but I used the small table and armchair by the bed. The air conditioning and boiler worked well, and the amenities were there in the little bathroom shelf, though I didn’t spot them at first. I also appreciated the two cold water bottles in the fridge after the long airport bus ride in the June heat. Finding the hotel was confusing: check-in was at Plaza Hotel, while Ladadika Design was a nearby building. Reception was quick and the man there was friendly. He carried my luggage upstairs, which helped because there were lots of stairs. When I stayed in June 2025, there was no lift. There was a special chair for taking people with disabilities upstairs, but I didn’t know if it was in use. Cafes and bars below could get loud late at night. That comes with being in the well placed Ladadika area, near the Thessaloniki promenade and surrounded by cafes, bars, and restaurants. For the price, it was good, and I’ll stay there again.

The apartment was really nice and clean. Parking was a nightmare, though: it costs 10 euros per day, you have to collect a card from reception, then drive five minutes to the lot. There’s no elevator either.

The room lighting is terrible, and we won’t stay here again. There’s no elevator, so large bags have to go up very narrow stairs. A small lift is available, but hotel staff have to operate it and they’re never there. You also have to check in at a different nearby hotel.

The central location is a plus, and breakfast was okay. Staff were mostly helpful, although they seemed irritated when I raised the problems. This place wasn’t family friendly for us. The parking is far away, and carrying luggage at least 200m through busy streets was a hassle. Getting the parking cards and returning them to reception at checkout was another chore. Reception and breakfast are in one building, while the rooms are in another. To reach our room we had to climb two narrow flights of stairs, with no elevator. At night the streets were loud, and we could hear music through closed windows at 3am on a Wednesday. The bathroom was small, dated, and dirty.
