We froze for all five days. The marble floor stayed cold, the AC barely heated the place, and although there was a central heating remote, it wasn't connected to the breakers. We were told to switch on the breakers for hot water, then turn them off after 30 minutes so we wouldn't get blown up or electrocuted. There was just one paper-thin duvet, so we shivered for five nights, and nowhere to hang the towels to dry. The photos on Booking and the website showed sunshine, a sea view and a seafront property. The apartment had modern, trendy furniture, but it didn't feel safe enough for somewhere advertised as luxury. One kitchen view looked onto an abandoned building; from the other side of the room, we saw a partly ruined old building. The location wasn't by the sea or near the center as advertised. It was in Thessaloniki's red light district, the streets were dark and felt unsafe, and we saw suspicious activity by the entrance, including what looked like drug deals and people we took to be pimps, sex workers, homeless people and junkies. If you book here, don't walk around the block at night, get a taxi, or find somewhere nearer the center. There was hair in the bathroom from previous guests, and although the listing said it wasn't pet-friendly, the apartment still smelled like a wet dog. Please stay away from this property.

The price was good and the place was clean. It's in a recent building, and parking is possible nearby. But upkeep was poor, with several things needing repair. The oversized furniture makes it hard to move around when the sofa is open, and the overstuffed pillows were difficult to get comfortable with.

We come back every year; this is our favorite place to stay in Thessaloniki. The apartments are lovely, and there are plenty of free parking spaces around. One Salonica shopping center is close, and the bus to the center stops about 100 meters away. There are also little coffee shops, cafes and street fruit sellers nearby. Highly recommend it.

The apartment was clean and okay, but it didn't look like the Booking photos. Nobody warned us about the suspicious neighborhood or the red district clubs on the street, and we'd brought a baby. On the second day our booking was canceled without notice, leaving us an hour to find another place to stay. I'd give it zero if I could.

Stay away. The neighborhood was very bad, and there were cleaner areas with properties at the same price. Also, the bathroom's front-facing window gave workers on the roof of the next building a clear view inside. I contacted customer support asking for at least a shower curtain, but they said they couldn't do anything, despite the privacy issue.
