Vivian House

The day before we were due to leave Crete, we were still trying to sort out whether we had somewhere to stay. We had booked in February, but four days before the trip she emailed saying we had to change or cancel because we had entered the children’s ages incorrectly. We only saw that email two days later. Booking corrected the ages at no extra cost. Once we told her, she said she had stopped working with Booking and couldn’t host us, and she didn’t even know whether she or Booking had received our money, leaving us to figure it out ourselves. She showed no concern for our situation or whether we might lose our money. Her behavior was completely untrustworthy and indiscriminate.

Our booking was for July 10-16, made on February 11, but they canceled it on July 9. Two days earlier, after receiving an email on July 6, I contacted them about correcting the children’s ages. They could have raised this months before. Instead, they wanted me to cancel and said they wouldn’t leave me without accommodation so close to the booking. I lost my money and had nowhere to stay. Booking initially said the correction was handled and there was no issue, then on July 9, while I was traveling, they emailed to say the property wouldn’t accept me because they had stopped working with Booking. They’re unreliable and left me without a place at the last minute. Beware.

The apartment is roomy and set up in a practical way. It’s central and easy to get to.
