Kos Palace Hotel

The beach is only a 30-second walk away, with showers outside the hotel to rinse off when you return. Beach sunbeds cost extra and were often all taken, but there was always space by the pool, where plenty of sunbeds were free. The grounds are spacious and beautifully maintained. I had room 504, with a comfortable bed, a roomy shower, a nice balcony, good air conditioning and a fridge large enough for drinks. It was cleaned daily, which made the stay more relaxing. Breakfast was a great buffet with lots to choose from each morning. There’s also a complimentary dinner buffet, which looked delicious if you want to eat at the hotel. The staff were sweet, welcoming and helpful, and there are several car hire options nearby for exploring the island. I absolutely loved staying at Kos Palace and would recommend it to families, couples or solo travellers. The facilities, food, location and warm atmosphere made it a fantastic place for a holiday in Kos.

My gold bracelet and dress were stolen from my room, even though the place itself was nice. There are no cameras, so there’s no way to check who went in, and the staff did nothing about it. I’ll never come back.

The hotel is gorgeous, lovely, and very close to the sea, with amazing views unless you’re in a basement room. It could be great for a summer holiday, but be ready for extra costs. It’s half-board only, which may matter to some. The dinners were quite amazing, while breakfast got repetitive and boring after two or three days. The snack-bar and reception staff were lovely, and I can’t fault their customer service. The cleaning staff did a great job too: the room was always made up and clean, and even the floors were wiped. I did find the wait staff noticeably uneven. Three of the women watched eagerly for some guests and greeted them loudly at the door, but we had to call “Kalimera!” to get a response. The men were polite and courteous to everyone, while the women seemed to favour certain guests. All drinks at dinner cost extra. I understand paying for beer, wine and cocktails, but not water and juice, especially as the juice comes from concentrate. Whatever you order, the price is hefty.

Our flight was delayed, so we got there very late and missed dinner. They had thoughtfully set aside a full plate of food for us when we arrived. A lovely example of the great service here. The hotel was very clean, had great amenities, and offered lots of variety at breakfast and dinner.
