Tolon Holidays

The hotel seems geared toward groups, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast is minimal. The pool closes at 7 pm, which is a shame, but using the new pool is refreshing.

We were a group of 54, and everything from check-in through the meals went very well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is just one block off the main shopping street, which was no problem for us. We stayed on the fourth floor and had an amazing view. There’s a pool, though it seems unheated.

There wasn’t any water in the pool. We found rotten tomatoes, spoiled olives, and expired butter, and there was something crunchy in the spaghetti. No sheets were provided, and the bed was hard as a rock. The meat seemed to have been there since Odysseus set off on his Odyssey.

Traveling around with a group of students over Easter as an accompanying adult may be a different experience from visiting alone during the season. The reviews I’d seen didn’t match what we found. The rooms were bad, the hotel felt dated, and the food was spoiled. Staff were unfriendly, apart from the women at reception. It came across like a quick money grab. There’s no excuse for spoiled food: at best, it disrupted an already busy trip, and at worst it could mean a hospital visit. The bar is at least well stocked. You’ll need it.
