The rooms were spacious and clean, but outside noise carried through. The hotel is out of town and forms part of a bus station. Service was okay, though especially slow at dinner, and breakfast was basic.

The room price was very good value, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor felt a bit strange, almost like a nightclub. In the evening, one woman at reception was really friendly and helpful to us. Breakfast was pretty poor, so we just had cereal both days. You'll need a car: Meteora is about a 30-minute drive away, and Trikala town is 15 minutes by car.

The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, and the hotel really is a fine place to stay. I also found Charoula in the breakfast room and Angelos at reception efficient and accommodating. Still, I was puzzled by how little the staff smiled. When I arrived at 9:30 on a rainy evening two weeks ago, I had to wait for the receptionist to come to the desk, and her manner made me feel like an intruder. Even Charoula and Angelos seemed unsure of themselves when I first spoke to them, although I spoke Greek. The manager should look into this, because it holds back an otherwise commendable hotel. The interior designer deserves warm congratulations, though the decor felt a little overpowering for my zen taste. And the lack of balconies is a real problem for smokers.

The reception and dining room employees were kind and helpful. The rest of our experience was much less positive: the breakfast was poor and needs work, and our room was not very clean, with a giant dead insect on the floor. There was no air conditioning in the shared areas either. We ate breakfast at the hotel on two days, and both times the manager spoke disrespectfully to the staff, swearing loudly and repeatedly bullying the woman serving in the dining room.
