Mrs Marina and her staff took wonderful care of us through the whole stay, even after we checked out. The bed was very comfortable, which helped make up for the room's few drawbacks. Our double room was small, and both it and the bathroom could use a refresh. The air conditioning gave off a smell when switched on, and there weren't enough sockets. The hotel itself has a magnificent facade and is more than a hundred years old. Inside, with its high ceilings, staircase, dining area, reception, antique filled landings, and old furniture, it feels almost like stepping into another time. Its location may be the most central spot in Trikala. A truly heartwarming place to stay, recommended.

We stayed there in 2017, and I don't understand the high ratings. Maybe it's a wonderful place if you haven't been anywhere else, or perhaps it's a mid-range hotel by local standards. The hotel's full of old things in the corridors, but they're covered in dust, just like everything else. I had to dust my own room before I could sleep. The staff don't speak English. The owner makes an effort, but is rarely around, and the other staff simply avoid you. At breakfast, the two older waiters only knew how to ask, "Omelette, yogurt?" So the choices were basically a tasteless omelette or plain Greek yogurt. Want anything else? You'd need to know Greek to ask. Service took a full hour, and when our group needed to leave around 8 a.m., even though the staff knew, the kitchen had only managed to bring juice to our table. This is definitely a low-class hotel by local standards, more like a local school dormitory.

The bathrooms could do with an upgrade, but overall we had a pleasant stay and felt it was good value for money. Reception and breakfast service were impeccable. There was also an interesting collection of books, furniture, old telephones, coins, and a few folklore items. Recommended for a relaxing stay.

Right in the heart of Trikala, this hotel has a great location and a lovely vintage look. We stayed just one night, and the room was very clean with a wonderful atmosphere. It's a traditional, aristocratic style place, and the staff were professional, helpful, and polite. I definitely recommend it.
