Our room had a breathtaking Aegean view, and we watched both sunrise and sunset from there. We also ate breakfast in the tree surrounded, flower filled garden. Ms. Vaso made each morning’s breakfast delicious and different, with fresh homemade jams, pies, and other local treats. The beautiful, peaceful location was lovely, but the warm hospitality and those breakfasts were the real highlights. A memorable stay, and I definitely recommend it.

The first drive to the property can be a little tricky, as others have said, but it’s manageable and wouldn’t stop us returning. The location in tsagkarada is convenient, fairly central to several beaches and restaurants, and right on the main hiking trails. We loved the Malva room and its great balcony view. Breakfast was incredible and changed every morning, and the host was wonderful and attentive. A lovely stay at Arnica Montana!

Breakfast was served in the lovely garden, not as a buffet. We chose a table and the owners brought out fresh, delicious homemade dishes. Every morning’s meal was tasty, filling, and clearly prepared with care. The house, originally built in 1700, has been carefully restored while keeping many authentic details, which give it a special charm. Our room had a window right by the bed, and we slept with it open. It felt like being outdoors, with nature sounds at night and beautiful birdsong in the morning. This is a wonderfully cozy, atmospheric place for a relaxing stay. It feels personal and heartfelt, with a character of its own, unlike the typical hotel experience where service depends on the star rating. We didn’t find any downsides. When we first arrived, Google Maps confused us a little because the village has multiple levels, but the owner kindly met us and showed us the way. It’s just a local quirk, easy to deal with if you plan your route ahead. I also saw a review saying the path to the hotel was difficult or unsafe, but that’s completely untrue. It’s paved and well maintained. This is a place for walking in nature, so high heels aren’t suitable, but comfortable shoes are perfect for peaceful time outdoors. It’s a different kind of experience, and a beautiful one. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.

The breakfasts Vasso made were the best I’ve had at any hotel in the world. She used produce from her garden and local ingredients, with something different every day: tart, omelette, eggs with thyme, and always something sweet. The homemade bread with local chestnut or oak honey and seasonal jams was heaven. This was our second stay at Arnica Montana, a magical place we’d dreamed about since our last visit. Vasso welcomed us so warmly it felt like coming home. The rooms are comfortable, in a beautifully restored traditional Pelion house. It’s secluded enough that you hear only birds, and the night sky is the clearest you’ll see. We hope to make a third visit as soon as we can. Thank you, Vasso. We already miss AM.
