Niovi Apartments

We spent a week here at the beach with the kids. The terrace on the upper floor two-bedroom apartment had a beautiful view, and the apartment is right by a local beach. There are also several restaurants and cafes and a small shop next door. Tsoutsouros is a very calm village with few tourists, which we really appreciated. Katerina was welcoming and helpful, and there’s air conditioning and parking. The apartment is quite basic. There was no frying pan, microwave, or washing machine, so it works if you aren’t planning to cook much. We managed with breakfasts on the terrace and its wonderful view. The internet wasn’t always reliable. Beyond the local beach, attractions are at least an hour away, so I wouldn’t recommend staying in Tsoutsouros for more than a week. We also had quite frequent power issues, with 5-6 half-hour blackouts over three weeks.

The spacious terraces, each with a direct sea view, were a real plus. There are smaller shops and plenty of restaurants nearby, and if you want a swim, the beach is just across the road. It’s rocky and not particularly well maintained, but the lack of crowds means no scramble for sun loungers and plenty of peace. The accommodation is average, though sufficient for the price. It’s a nice spot for a relaxing holiday, and you can rent a car at Triton hotel a few steps away to explore Crete. There aren’t many attractions in the village, and scooter rental isn’t available there.

The apartments were clean and close to the sea, and there’s air conditioning too. A great choice if you want a quiet holiday, highly recommend.
