Elisso Hotel

The hotel and room were nice, in an excellent location, and the staff were kind and helpful. But the manager's attitude was disappointing and not customer-friendly. There was a reservation mix-up, so the three of us adults had to spend half our holiday in a double room. Even with the booking mistake, his behavior was unpleasant and inappropriate. We're disappointed with how he treated us.

The pool is spacious and enjoyable, and the location near the Podi side of Vasiliki is pleasant and convenient. The hotel covers the basics, with a bed, wardrobe, mini fridge and bathroom in the room, plus a basic breakfast. We booked a cheaper room, but it looked much more basic than the online photos for that same room, and wasn't what I expected. The layout was awkward, since the fridge door hit the bed and couldn't open fully. The bathroom felt dated and the shower was partly broken. Housekeeping was the biggest problem. It was very inconsistent, sometimes arriving at 9am while we were asleep and sometimes not coming at all. We had to ask reception twice for clean towels, then waited an hour. When they did clean, the floor or bathroom was often left dirty, and towels or linen sometimes weren't clean. They also took our room key out of the power socket by the door, where we leave it during the day to charge our devices, headphones and portable chargers. We had to ask reception to get it back. There are some basics and a lovely pool in a good spot, but this didn't feel like what most people would call a 4-star standard.

Shops are nearby, and it's an easy walk to the harbour for meals. The rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel is almost right on the beach.

The hotel bar was a real treat, with a good range of quality cocktails. There's also a lovely path along the beach for evening strolls. Elisso Hotel is just 5 meters from the shore, so you step outside and you're on the beach. Most rooms have lovely sea views, and ours was clean and comfortable, with a balcony where we could watch the sunset. We had a fantastic stay and found it a peaceful, enjoyable place in Vasiliki.
