Isalos

The room was clean, and the bathroom seemed fairly new. I checked the bed carefully and found no bugs. Communication was quick and simple, even though reception was in a different building. The AC worked well, and there was no trouble with hot water. Wi-Fi was fairly fast for such a remote spot: good enough for streaming, though probably not for uploading holiday photos to the cloud. Good value, and I'd stay again. 👍😁

Vera was lovely and kept the rooms spotless. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the views were reasonably good. But the room was small and hard to move around in, and the photos made the place look much better. The walls let through a lot of noise; on our last night, we heard someone next door snoring all night. The toilet seat and shower's sliding door were both broken, though the hot water worked fine. The shared kitchen had plenty of equipment, but the common area was heavily used and guests weren't keeping it clean. Poor Vera was constantly cleaning it, and doing a great job. The property is beside the old churchyard, which you can see from the kitchen, and there were lots of cats around. The day before we left, the owner sent a strange, passive-aggressive message about my photo of the churchyard on Google Maps. The photo wasn't negative, but the owner said we could leave without a penalty if we didn't like the place. We'd already paid for all three nights, so it felt like a very odd way to treat customers. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend it.

Sotiria is an excellent host. The outdoor kitchen and nicely decorated patio gave us a pleasant place to eat or sit and relax. The rooms are small but very clean, and some have large balconies. It's also quiet and conveniently close to the main street with shops, as well as the port and tavernas.

Vera takes great care of the place and is amazing. The owner, though, was really annoying. My wife put a photo on Google Maps of the lovely garden churchyard behind the shared kitchen, and the owner texted her saying we could leave early if we didn't like the apartment. We'd paid for the full three days. Our room was missing a few things, the toilet seat and sliding shower door were broken, and cockroaches came out of the bathroom. Would I stay at Isalos again? Definitely not.
