Savinos Rooms

I’ve stayed here twice and have been pleased both times with the clean rooms. The location is convenient too, close to the beach and restaurants.

My wife and I stayed one night, and it wasn't a particularly enjoyable stay. With the facilities, the crowded location and the staff experience, I’d rate it around 3.5 at most, despite the positive reviews we’d seen. The room itself was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived. The studio is advertised as having a kitchen, but the oven was so weak that even boiling pasta water took a long time. The views weren’t good: the sea-facing rooms look onto a neglected “garden” with rubbish around, while the mountain-facing side looks directly at the hotel across the street. We called to say we wanted to leave early and were told it wouldn’t be a problem. The next morning, though, we got an unfriendly response: we had booked two nights and stayed one, so we had to pay more. I agreed without arguing since we were the ones cancelling. I also asked to check out an hour later and was refused because other guests were supposedly arriving. I didn’t feel like debating how they’d found someone to replace us within five minutes.

We spent 14 nights down by the Ponti end of Vassiliki and had a great stay. The rooms were cleaned daily, with fresh bedding and towels each day. Ours had everything we needed, though we hadn’t booked an apartment, so there was no kitchen. We ate breakfast and other meals out. We’d happily recommend the place and come back.

The apartment was clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for three. Everything was in good working order, fairly new and well equipped, and the daily cleaning and linen changes kept it spotless. In July, we didn’t need the air conditioning: that part of Vasiliki gets a breeze from about 15:00 to 22:00, and the nights were great for sleeping with the windows open. It’s close to the only sandy stretch of beach in Vasiliki. The downsides were slow internet and traffic noise at night with the windows open. The area was pretty deserted in the evening, so you could walk to the old port or go to Sivota.
