The beach at Vatera Bay was only a short step from the hotel, with clear blue water, plenty of space, and a lovely stretch of clean sand. I spent a wonderful week at this family-run place on Lesvos. Yiorgos and Yiannis were so kind and attentive, and made me feel at home. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with an authentic Greek blue-and-white feel, and the homemade food was delicious. I’d happily come back.

I found plenty of places to eat nearby, with cafes, restaurants, and pubs all within walking distance. The hotel itself is in a calm spot and has its own parking and private beach. The water was crystal clear and lovely for swimming. Our room was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that they made the stay even better. I’d recommend it for a quiet, restful break.

Breakfast had lots to choose from, and there was still plenty even when we arrived toward the end of the serving hours. Our youngest is still talking about the toasted sandwiches from the pool bar, six months later! We spent several days at Hotel Aphrodite in late June 2024, with our family of four and my godmother. The pool is the best we’ve found anywhere, and the hotel leads straight from it to the beautiful beach. The owners were warm, kind, and very professional. We ate at the restaurant several times, and both the food and service were perfect each time. Try the pizzas and grilled bread. We’ve already written to ask about staying again this summer :)

Vatera Beach is just a two-minute walk away, and the water there is clear, beautiful, and calm. The family who runs Aphrodite Hotel were welcoming and always ready to help. We really enjoyed the comfortable beds and the continental breakfast with local cheeses. Our kids loved the clean pool, especially the elephant slide, and we could order coffee, drinks, and desserts right by the water. There’s a gym and spa, too. The taverna’s pizza was the best around, and we loved the souvlaki and fresh-cut fries. We’re so glad we found this place and can’t wait to return next year. It felt like a chance to enjoy authentic Greek culture, away from the usual commercial tourist islands. :)

Those seven days at Aphrodite Beach Hotel will stay in my heart. The sea was wonderful, the food delicious, and the sunrises and sunsets incredible.
