Kokkino Spiti Boutique Hotel

The service was excellent and breakfast was nice, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were pleasant, though a little worn. The hotel is in a beautiful part of town, inside the old Jewish quarter beside the only remaining synagogue. Even though it’s central, it feels like a village, with renovated old houses, lots of trees, and the river nearby.

We liked the place and would recommend it, though we’ve stayed at boutique hotels that did better on some details. Eco living is one of three hotels run by the same owner, and its location by the river was lovely. We could hear the water, and the area was stylishly decorated. The lady host was kind and helpful, and our room was nice and clean. Still, the towels and bathroom felt average, and the single large all-in-one toiletries bottle was underwhelming. The mattress was too soft for me, though others may prefer it. I also found it odd there was no small fridge. Breakfast was in a nice room, but was average, and there was no decaf coffee.

We were planning just one night here in late March 2025, but ended up staying longer. It’s a lovely, quiet hotel spread across two beautiful old houses. Our room was in the house farther down the hill, carefully and thoughtfully restored, with a river view. Veria made us feel very welcome and gave us lots of good tips on places to eat and visit. It’s the people, as much as the fixtures and fittings, that make a hotel memorable, and she’s an excellent host.

The location is really good, close to the main attractions but still quiet. We stayed in a separate building, and the room was fantastic, spacious, pleasant, and clean, with everything up to a good standard. Breakfast was limited, but we had a very enjoyable stay.
