Garbis Villas

We arrived at Vila Garbis to find an unfinished annex that looked nothing like the attractive Booking photos. There were cobwebs, broken or dangling lamps, a blind held up with string, and electrical pipes exposed from the walls and floor. The listing gave no clear warning about any of this, apart from a map that was barely noticeable. The pictures also make it seem as though every apartment is the same, which felt misleading. It was a frustrating stay and our worst experience with Booking. After seeing the place, we even wondered how accurate the positive reviews were.

The views really make the holiday, and the apartment is spotless and roomy. We had a one-bedroom place for two adults and two kids, and there was plenty of space. The rooms were just right, and the staff were so accommodating that nothing seemed like too much trouble. The pool bar was closed because of covid, which was a shame, but I'd have rated the place six stars if it had been open. We're planning to come back, and I'd recommend booking directly through their website. The photos say a lot.

The pool area is gorgeous, with incredible views all around, and we've had some of our most relaxing holidays here. Garbis Villa’s sits in the hills of Loudas in Kefalonia, looking out over the Ionian Sea with mountains around it. We've stayed here several times with our extended family. It's family run, and everyone is so welcoming. Irene is a lovely owner and a perfect host, always accommodating.

Waking up to that view is such a pleasure. I recommend it. The only downside was that the beds were only available as separate beds.
