Archontiko Pantou

Portaria worked out perfectly as a base for exploring Pilion. Everything in the village was within walking distance, yet the spot was quiet, and parking was available in front of the hotel. Our attic room had lovely furnishings and atmosphere, with an incredible view over Volos and the sea. It was clean, though a few small things could be better, such as the shower cabin that wouldn’t close all the way. The host was kind and helpful, and offered to serve breakfast two hours early when we had to leave for our return flight. Breakfast was good.

The views from the windows were breathtaking, and the breakfast, made with local products, was delicious. I stayed one night in mid August and was given the “Lisianthos” room. It was clean and nicely decorated, with a double bed, a fireplace for winter, and a comfortable [sentence ends abruptly in source]. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I recommend this place :)

The staff were overwhelmingly friendly and helpful, but the stay wasn’t quite what we expected. The room didn’t look like the pictures, and we could hear everyone and everything from the neighboring rooms. The bathroom was too small, and the hydromassage was just an extra shower sprinkler. At 90€ a night, it would have been okay if it cost less.

The owner was very kind and helpful, and the location and facilities were excellent. I loved having a fireplace in the room. The mattress felt a bit stiff, and the wooden floor meant there wasn’t much sound insulation, though that seems normal. Recommended!
