Divani Escape- Adults only

Housekeeping was the one bright spot. The staff were surly, the room had no soap or other supplies, and the air conditioning may as well have been just a suggestion. It felt like staying in my grandma’s beach condo. Three stars on a good day.

The pool was small, but it suited us just fine, and breakfast was great. My wife uses a walker, so the spacious suite worked really well for her. Katerina gave excellent service. We had a great stay at divani escape and would come back.

The beach is around 200m away, but only a tiny section is open to the public. The rest is private and charges a €20 entrance fee. There was also very little nearby, so we had to take a taxi wherever we wanted to go. Breakfast was limited in both choice and quantity, and didn't feel like 5 star hotel quality. We were really disappointed by the pool. The sign says most of it is about 25cm deep, with just an area of about 3 x 4m at 1.2 deep. That's more like a pond than a swimming pool for a 5 star hotel. We didn't see anyone use it during our 6 days there. We tried to book at the hotel next door, Divani Apollon Palace, as soon as we arrived and pay ourselves, but there was nothing available.

The staff tried to sort out problems, but it was difficult. The showers were dangerous, switching on their own from ice cold to piping hot, and this happened in both rooms. The bathrooms weren't cleaned properly, and the keys failed several times. We could hear the neighbors next door and above us through the very thin doors. The bedding wasn't comfortable, there was no turndown water, and the minibar was expensive for a hotel in this class.
