Vouliagmeni Honeymoon Suite

The mattress and memory foam pillows were really comfortable, and the apartment had the appliances, dishes, and glasses we needed. There was a hairdryer, capsule coffee machine, iron, washing machine, dishwasher, starter coffee capsules, and some drinks in the fridge. There was no slippers, though, and I spotted some black hair left by previous guests. I wish I’d brought slippers. The terrace is spacious, and there’s a separate dressing room with an iron and ironing board, which was handy. The decor feels early 2000s and isn’t the newest, but the place is well maintained and some areas have been restored. For the price, it’s a decent apartment, especially for a couple of days. Longer stays could be uncomfortable because of the bathroom. That was my main complaint. The shower space is tiny, boxed in by a wall, and has no curtain. After a shower the whole bathroom gets wet. There’s a floor drain, but water still sits around and takes time to dry, and the foot towel gets soaked quickly. With standing water and the forced-air exhaust not working, you don’t feel like going back in. The toilet is right by the door, so you have to open it, step around it, and shut it before using it. There’s no bidet or hand shower, and the exhaust fan above looks ugly, melted by the heater. The location was a plus: Lake Vouliagmeni is a 10-minute walk, the beach is 7-10 minutes away, the supermarket is less than 1 km away, and the restaurant street is 500 meters away. Just be prepared to walk uphill on the way back. The apartment is on the first floor, but the building sits on a hill, so from the street you have to climb a long set of at least 40 steps to the entrance. There’s another entrance to the courtyard from a parallel street higher up. That way seems to have fewer steps, but it doesn't take you toward the beach, restaurants, and other places you go out to. So returning means walking uphill along the street and then up the stairs. That's important to know if you have a stroller or children, or if you have a disability.
