The location by the sea was lovely, and the rooms were fine for a two-star hotel. We enjoyed the views while eating at the restaurant. Still, the stay at Taradella felt very strange and uncomfortable. The owners kept pressuring guests to eat at their restaurant, even though it was 10-15 percent more expensive than the others nearby. They also had loud arguments and shouted at each other in the afternoons. We speak enough Greek to understand they were swearing, so it didn’t seem like just a loud way of talking. One owner in particular was rude. She seemed to treat Greeks with kindness and respect, but was unpleasant to foreigners and even to her own family. Breakfast was mostly sugary, flour-heavy food like croissants, cakes, and sandwiches. They did make omelets, but they were very greasy. One of the most unpleasant holiday stays I’ve had so far.

Everything I tried was spot on, from the fresh fish, meat, and salads to the coffee and drinks. You can eat outside with a scenic view or get takeaway. Prices are moderate, though, as you’d expect at a beach restaurant, a bit higher. Ordering can be tricky because the servers don’t speak much English. Service also tends to be slow when it’s busy, which is most of the time I’ve been there.

The sea is very close, though a little dirty, and the food is really good. It’s a family-run hotel. Rooms are clean but old and worn, the WiFi is very unstable, and there aren’t any shops nearby. First thing I’d do is rent a car and explore the peninsula.

The room was clean and tidy, with a balcony, and the setting is lovely, peaceful, and quiet. There’s a beach with loungers and the sea right by the hotel. The food was delicious, especially the homemade moussaka beans and meatballs, and the staff were friendly. I warmly recommend it.
