Panagea Holiday Apartments

We’ve stayed in quite a few places around Messinia, and Panagea Apartments in Kitries is our favorite for the easy access to the sea, the calm village feel without the crowds, and Rania, the kindest host you could ask for. The apartment was spotless and airy, just right for an easy, comfortable beach break. It’s only a few lazy steps from what feels like a private little beach, perfect for morning dips, sunset swims, and listening to the water at night. We had a wonderful stay and can’t recommend it enough. Five shining stars, and we’ll be back.

The big balcony and sea view were lovely, and having a full-size kitchen with all the equipment was a lifesaver. The apartments were very clean and work well for couples or families. There’s parking, and the hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating. It’s also a great base for day trips to Kalamata.

A great place for a relaxing break. The renovated apartment is spacious and comfortable, with a full-size, fully equipped kitchen and a large balcony facing the sea. The beach, with clear water and a tavern, is just across the street. You can easily head out for day trips to Kalamata, Kardamyli, or nearby villages for good food and views. The apartments are very clean and suit couples and families alike. There’s safe parking off the street, and the hosts are very helpful and accommodating.

We stayed four nights as a family of four and had a really good time. The weather was lovely, and relaxing or playing with the kids on the big balconies and in the garden made for great memories. We slept well and would come back for a summer swim. Friends from Athens joined us and booked two more rooms in the same four-apartment building. The rooms are thoughtfully equipped, from the well-made bathrooms and good water pressure to the Apivita products, large fridge, clean, fully equipped kitchen, and two coffee makers. We also appreciated the sound insulation, both from outside and between rooms. With the garden all around the buildings, it felt pleasantly secluded in the Messinian countryside, and the layout gave each balcony its own privacy. Across the regional road from the apartment entrance is a small, clean pebble beach with an open view. A tavern has tables on the beach and serves fish and meat; the food was as good as at other taverns in the area, but it was much quieter. There are lovely places to eat in the small seaside villages on the way from Kalamata to Kitries, and Kalamata itself is worth exploring, with its old town and easy-to-reach castle. Ms Rania was friendly and responsive. She welcomed us with helpful tips, Easter eggs for the kids, and fresh coffee from Kalamata’s Spinos store. On our last day, she also let us enjoy another half day at the apartment. Thank you!
