It's a beautiful, peaceful home with a serene feel. We spent about 20 minutes touring it, then relaxed for the other 40, listening to the ocean and enjoying the view. This is also where they filmed Before Midnight. We had trouble buying tickets in advance, but since there were only two of us, they were happy to let us pay at the door.

The interior has quite a strong Moorish influence, and you can see lovely sea views from almost anywhere in the house and gardens. It's a really interesting house near Kardamyli, though it only opens a couple of days a week for part of the year. Worth a visit.

We were staying at Hotel Kalamitsi next door, but unfortunately the house wasn't open. From the outside, the house and gardens looked beautiful. The shop was open, with a small selection of books and related items.

The residence is breathtaking, but I expected some kind of guided tour. The guides just unlocked and locked the doors and didn't explain anything about the owner, the architecture or the history. I think the benaki museum should reconsider charging for nothing.

An amazing house, and the man who lived here was amazing too. Book ahead, as they're strict about people paying on the day. I believe visits are only possible once every two weeks.
