The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast had plenty to choose from. The hotel sits in the heart of Xylokastro, right by the sea, so it’s easy to go for a walk. We found parking easily just in front. The staff were the best part, especially Mr Giannis, who made us feel at home even before we arrived. Many thanks to him and everyone on the team.

Our superior double was clean and well looked after, with a properly equipped bathroom rather than the bare minimum and a balcony with a partial sea view. The place stays warm, and there was a blanket for visits outside the season; a baby cot was available too. The pool is drained in the off-season. Hot water does come through, but the long pipes mean you may wait 2-3 minutes, especially in the quieter months, and the pressure is not strong. Breakfast felt worth the price.

We had a huge, clean room and such lovely hosts. It's right by the sea, and easily my favorite place in Xylokastro. I'd happily come back soon and recommend it.

Le Convivial felt like a home away from home, with the sea just five steps away. It was a lovely shade of blue, and the water temperature felt just right, neither too warm nor too cold. Inside, it stayed cool even when it was 34C outside. The meals used local food and wine products, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. There was also a tucked-away, oasis-like indoor pool, and the area was quiet while still being within walking distance of the city's nightlife. The owner could speak the languages we needed, with only very rare exceptions. I spoke English, French, Portuguese and a little Italian or Swedish there. We were welcomed with drinks, and massage and spa treatments were available too. It made for an idyllic vacation in Xylokastro, and I'd love to visit again.
