Mysaion Hotel

The service was warm, friendly, and generous. We never had to ask twice for more firewood, even on a January visit without snow. When I seemed sad about leaving, Mr. Vasilis kindly gave me a jar of his apricot marmalade :D. Breakfast was hard to resist because of the owner, Kurie Vassilis’, marmalades. I ended up eating substantially more than planned. You think you’ve had good homemade jam, then you try his. Mark my words, go straight for the apricot! Our stay at Mysaion was definitely memorable. The hotel is lovely, clean, formidable, and excellently situated, with rock and wood architecture. Having a fireplace in the bedroom made a world of difference to our relaxation and the daily ambience.

The staff were excellent, and the stay was great value for the money.

The staff were rude and completely unhelpful. They charged the full fee even though they didn’t know whether they’d be open during the lockdown. Even Booking employees couldn’t get through to them.

The room was clean and cleaned every day, and breakfast was great. I especially enjoyed the homemade spinach pie. Restaurants and cafes were all close by. The fireplace was very smoky and needs cleaning, and the shower didn’t drain properly, so water pooled. All in all, a great experience.
